Main screen is divided into four sections:

Recording List shows all supported audio files in the selected folder. Recording List provides basic file service such as deleting, renaming, sending, etc., as in file explorer. Tap and hold the recording in the list until the pop-up menu is displayed, and choose the desired action.
Command Bar has:
VAS (Voice Activation System) is an additional function destined to save memory space.
To switch over to VAS panel, tap VAS button in Command Bar at the bottom of the main screen.
VAS panel has VAS On/Off button, sound level indicator and VAS slider.
Use sound level indicator to define the VAS level when recording starts. Sound level indicator shows surrounding noise level. Drag VAS slider a bit more to the left side than the upper limit of sound, you want to record, shown on sound level indicator.
To activate VAS, tap VAS On/Off button (active VAS On/Off button has green highlighting), then tap Record button in Button Section. Recording starts after sound level exceeds adjusted VAS level, and stops when sound level becomes lower than adjusted VAS level. Therefore, silent parts or sound which level is lower than adjusted VAS level will be lost.
To disable VAS, tap VAS On/Off button again.
Select recording format and memory location from a list to save new recordings to. Remember, the higher quality of audio recording (bit rate, sample rate) the more memory space it occupies. Drag recording format slider to see the maximum recording length for the different formats.
For your convenience you can assign your device hardware buttons to the Voice Recorder actions. Just tap button name from the Button column and select action from Task dropdown list. Tap Restore Defaults to return to default hardware button assignment or Reset to clear assignment for buttons.

To register your copy of Voice Recorder, enter registration code in the fields and tap Register.
How to ...
Tap Record button to start recording. Recording will start immediately if VAS is disabled, and after the sound level exceeds adjusted VAS level if VAS is enabled.
Go to Tools->Settings->General and select suitable format.
Change storage memory location
Go to Tools->Settings->General and select storage memory location from a list.
Tap Stop button to stop recording or playback. Next tap on Record button after you stopped recording creates new audio file and starts new recording. When you stop playback, current position in the recording resets to the start.
Enable/Disable VAS (Voice Activation System)
To enable VAS, tap VAS On/Off button on the left side of VAS panel (active VAS On/Off button has green highlighting) and adjust VAS level by dragging VAS slider.
To disable VAS, tap VAS On/Off button again.
Drag Volume level slider on the right side of the main screen to adjust volume level.
Tap Switch Play Mode button at the bottom of the main screen to change playback mode.
Available modes:
Assign actions to hardware buttons
Go to Tools->Settings->Buttons, tap desired button name and select action from Task dropdown list.
Tap Display Off button at the bottom of the main screen to turn your device display off.
To turn your device display on, typically press and hold Power On/Off button on your Pocket PC
Go to Tools->Settings->Misc and tick off LED blinks while recording option.
Delete/Rename/Move/Send/Beam audio files
Tap File Explorer button at the bottom of the main screen, then tap and hold the recording name in Recording List until the pop-up menu is displayed, and select action from the list.
