If you are looking for a useful, all-round table, a table can often be a wise choice, with no set style rules, you can easily find the correct size, color and design to suit any room. From the classical polished wood, antique style, through to the modern glass and chrome styled console tables, with such a wide choice, you are sure to find something to suit your tastes.
One common place to see or display a console table is a foyer or entryway. Not only does this help fill an awkward space that is common to foyers where there may be room for a chair and perhaps one other piece of furniture. A console table is perfect for the foyer because it gives you a great place to store keys, gloves, and other travel essentials. This decorative but very functional accent table can also provide a perfect spot to place a lamp and illuminate what can otherwise be a somewhat dim area in most homes. Plus, a lamp can complement the table and other décor while providing a decorative element in its own right.
Console tables tend to stand on four legs that are often slender but sometimes intricately carved. The legs support a table top made from any number of quality woods, including: oak; walnut; ash; maple; or even pine. In many cases, quality console tables and are made with a solid wood covered with veneered inlays. Common features on console tables are drawers and compartments for the storage of paperwork, spare bedding, and similar items.
