Once you see the variety of console tables available and their myriad of uses you may just find one for every room. Try one as a TV stand in the bedroom or a writing desk in the corner of the family room, or even as a catch all in the entryway. It is perfect resting spot for keys or a handbag. And besides use you can narrow down your search by shape, style or top material. Say you want a half circle table with lots of drawers or maybe one with a tropical twist wrapped in woven sea grass. Maybe you want a rectangular one with a roomy lower shelf for displaying a few things. You'll easily find the console table of your dreams hen you shop online and since you'll be at home you can take measurements to ensure that you find a table that fits perfectly in your designated space.
One of the most misunderstood pieces of furniture are console tables. People think that they only place they can be put is at the end of a hallway or behind a couch. The thing is, because of their practicality and beauty, console tables would actually be a fantastic choice for placing in other places throughout your home as well.
The location where console tables are placed is also vital to their decoration. Some of the places where you can place them include: foyers, hallways, living room, and dining room. Wherever you decide upon, select a vantage position to display your table.
Although wood gives a room a rich look, you don't want the wood to be too dark in color as this will make the room appear smaller. If you have wood flooring, rugs are a great accent that take away some of the darkness and bring color to the room as well as make it more inviting. Console tables can then be the same color as the flooring, or a lighter color. You may want just one table for an accent. If you're using them for a purpose, such as media storage, you can get a larger one. Another idea is to get tables with glass tops. These look very elegant, while complementing the wood on the tables. These may not be appropriate, however, if you have young children.
If you have a dining room that's too small to accommodate a sideboard, china cabinet, or buffet, add a console table. It's smaller than traditional dining room furniture, but if it's got a few drawers you can store napkins, serving utensils, candles, and bar accessories. If it's got a few shelves, you can use it to display some of your favorite serving pieces. Add a small wine rack, a basket or box holding a corkscrew or foil cutter, and crystal stemware, you've can create a small wine bar.
